Sacred Waters 𖦹

ree

Once women were called to work with the waters. To tend to the water, to bathe themselves before going into ritual or trance, to cleanse, to listen. Water is deeply connected to the feminine (both in men and women), to emotion, creativity, purity, healing and to the moon. The moon is tied to the ebb and flow of tides, just like the female cycle.

I've been connecting to the element of water more and more over the past few years and last week I dreamt about a water priestess. She came to ask me to spread waters' message, to help remind people of its sacredness and importance. Cornwall makes connecting to the water element quite easy; the sea is everywhere and there are sacred springs and holy wells all over the place. People still leave gifts and sing songs for the water spirits. Legend and folklore tell the most wonderful stories about the springs and wells here. The ocean is home to selkies & mermaids and it is said that many of the waters of these wells have healing properties. I see people returning to the wells, honouring and remembering the sacredness of water. Remembering that water is essential for our physical survival, but also that it holds deep wisdom.

Our bodies are made of water, more then they're made of anything else. Deepening our relationship with it, with the wisdom it holds and the message it brings, is healing for both our planet and our bodies.

The wonderful work of dr. Maruru Emoto shows us how water is an energy and how human thoughts, sounds and words can influence the substance. Water reacts to the way we treat ourselves and our environment. If you've never heard of his work.. it's pretty amazing and shows that a deeper understanding of water brings a deeper understanding of ourselves.

May this be a little reminder to be kind to our inner waters, and to bless the waters that surround us 💧 💦  🌊  🌔 🌕 🌖
