It's world water day today 💦

I have wondered what it is that I can do for the waters in this world for a long time. I have such a deep wish to do something for the oceans, to help people remember how important water is. Over the years I have looked at vacancies for ocean preservation multiple times, but in the end, I feel like that's just not my way. Instead, I'll just share a little post here, sing another song to the water, paint a whale ~ those are my ways to express this thing I can't even put into words. But I'll try 💦

My understanding of and relationship to water has been growing over the past years. For me this definitely happened because of my time in Cornwall, where the water element is so present (the sea is everywhere, waterfalls, streams, rivers, ancient wells, rain). I started connecting to my own inner waters, started reading and feeling into this element more and more.

And then the whales started coming to me in dreams ~ sometimes they even kept whispering in the daytime. They swim in the depths of our oceans and are close(r) to the middle of the earth, they’re hearing the earths messages and are asking for our attention. Wanting us to remember.

I think for us humans, it is necessary to change the way we look at water so we can start a new relationship with it. In our modern world, we need to remember that water is not just something we drink, swim in, shower with, see in the channels, flush down our toilet.. it is not something that’s ‘outside’ of us. In fact, most of the human body consists of water (around 60%), which means that we’re more water than anything else. About 71 percent of the earth's surface is water covered, and the oceans hold about 97 percent of all earth's water.

And there’s so much more to share. Life on earth began in the mysterious depths of the ocean millions of years ago, new life in our bodies begins in the waters of the womb. There’s a whole book to write about the way water is connected to our emotions, to our menstrual cycle, to the waxing and waning of the moon. How we treat it really matters;

water truly is life.

That water is a living substance, is clear.

But did you know it can also remember frequencies, and react to them? The wonderful work of dr. Maruru Emoto shows us how human thoughts, sounds and words (all frequencies) can influence the substance and how water can remember them. In other words, the molecular structure of water changes when it is exposed to different emotions (it looks a whole lot more beautiful when exposed to gratitude, then when exposed to judgement, for example). This means we can directly influence the water ‘quality’ in our bodies by changing the way we treat ourselves. It also means that the waters around us benefit from little acts of kindness. Kind words, songs, little gifts or prayers for the water spirits..

May this be a little reminder to be kind to our inner waters, and to bless the waters that surround us 🩵💦
